Job Description:

Responsible for administering driver licensing examinations and determining applicant eligibility for drivers licenses permits and identification cards. Verifies identity citizenship residency and other required documentation; conducts automobile motorcycle and commercial driver license (CDL) testing; evaluates driving performance and compliance with state and federal requirements; processes licensing transactions; provides customer service and information to the public; maintains accurate records; and assists with office operations fraud detection and regulatory compliance.

Job Duties: Conductdriverlicenseexaminationsincludingautomobile motorcycle and CDL knowledge skillsandroadtests; evaluate applicant performance anddetermineeligibility. Verify identity citizenship residency and immigration documents; reviewrecords and utilize frauddetection tools to ensure authenticity andcompliance with federal and state requirements. Process driver licenses permits and identification cards; enter and maintain records inmotor vehicle databases; ensure accuracy and confidentiality of information. Provide customer service byexplaining licensing requirements testing procedures drivingprivileges restrictions appeals processes and agency policies to applicantsandthepublic. Perform office operations including cash handling inventory controlequipment troubleshooting opening/closingprocedures facility readiness and coordination withsupport staff and vendors. Other duties as assigned and within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:Experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or working with motor vehicle laws.

Preferred Qualifications: Experienceprovidingcustomerserviceinapublic facing environment; experiencehandlingcash transactionsand maintaining accurate records; familiarity withstate motor vehicle laws licensing proceduresor regulatory requirements; experience reviewing documentsfor accuracy and completeness:proficiency with computer systems and data entry;experience working inafast-paced office environment; bilingual communication skills; and ademonstratedability toremain calm and professional when interacting with diverse customers in challengingsituations. A clean driving record and experience operating a variety of motorvehicles are also preferred.

Other: Candidates must possessa valid drivers license and maintain anacceptable driving record. Successful applicants will be required to complete agency-provided training including Driver License Examinercertification fraud detectiontraining and defensive driving coursework. Theposition requires regular Interactionwith thepublicthe ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationand theability to work both independently and collaboratively inateam locations may be required. Candidatesshould bedependable detail-orientedand committed to providing excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with state and federal licensing requirements. Regular and reliable attendance required.
