Events and Catering Assistant (Glenaire) Cary NC

Are you organized detail-driven and love bringing events to life behind the scenes Were looking for an Events and Catering Coordinator to support our Events lead with planning tracking and vendor coordination. Event or catering experience required. The Events and Catering Assistant role is a key role at Glenaire. This is a full time 40 hour per week role. Must have weekend availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and coordinating events meetings banquets and catering functions
- Assisting residents and team members create memorable events
- Support event setup and breakdown including tables décor signage and catering stations
- Communicate with residents family members and internal teams regarding event details and timelines
- Help manage catering orders inventory and supplies
- Ensure food presentation and service areas meet quality and cleanliness standards
- Provide excellent customer service before during and after events
- Assist with scheduling confirmations and administrative event tasks
- Monitor event flow and address resident needs promptly
- Follow health safety and sanitation guidelines
- Support the Events or Catering Coordinator with additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous hospitality catering restaurant or event experience
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 2550 lbs as needed
- Team-oriented with a positive and professional attitude
Preferred Skills
- Experience with banquet or catering operations
- Familiarity with Canva
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices
- Familiarity with event scheduling or booking software
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
