We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of professionals working collaboratively to support students communication and language development within educational settings. Position Overview:
This role is ideal for an experienced SLP who enjoys leadership and collaboration. The primary responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations writing evaluation reports and IEPs supervising SLPAs in accordance with state guidelines attending IEP meetings and providing clinical support to the special education team. The therapist will maintain a very small direct service caseload allowing the majority of their time to focus on evaluations documentation compliance and SLPA supervision.


Additional Details: Supportive district looking for an SLP to conduct evaluations and supervise SLPAs. SLP may be expected to cover a small caseload but the primary purpose would be supervision and evaluations/attending IEP meetings.


Responsibilities:

  • The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students communication articulation fluency and language skills to a small caseload of students
  • Collaborate closely with educators parents and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students participation in the classroom and social activities.
  • Monitor and document students progress adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Offer guidance and education to parents teachers and support staff on strategies to enhance students communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including session notes progress reports and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest research best practices and techniques in speech-language pathology.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings team meetings and school-based professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.
  • Supervise a team of SLPAs in accordance with State Guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. (if applicable)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
  • Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
  • Maryland State SLP License for at least 2 years in and/or ASHA licensure for at least 3 years
  • Completed or be willing to obtain 2.0 CEUs in supervision per ASHA guidelines
