The Need

For over 25 years IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade IJMs Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% forvery largepopulations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence we are seeking an Evaluation Fellow to join the 2026Fallclass.

TheEvaluation Fellowwill supportthe Global Measurement and Program Management team which equips IJM to design implement and measure the impact of its Justice System Strengthening projects. Through its team of global specialists it oversees policies & standards leads on critical initiatives provides technical services and offers capacity building opportunities to teams across the organization.

The Fellow will staff initiatives to develop a blueprint for evaluation management and to discover map and engage potential evaluation consultants. Tasks/projects may include:

  • Development of a blueprint for evaluation management;

  • Discovery mapping and engagement of potential consultancy firms for mapping;

  • Project managing ongoing measurement and program management initiatives; and

  • Participating in departmental and general IJM administrative support.

This position can be fully in-person or hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) in the Washington DC area.The position requires25-40 hoursper week.As volunteers interns and fellows receive a monthly stipend to help defray their expenses related toparticipatingin the internship program. This volunteer stipend is not an hourly wage nor wages paid for services provided by the intern or fellow.

General Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Technical writing abilities.

  • Awareness of cross-cultural contexts and communication skills.

  • Experience with evaluations.

  • Academic background in evaluation theory and approaches.

  • Experience withusing Microsoft Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

*What is a statement of faith
A statement of faith should describe your Christian faith and how you see it as relevant to your involvement with IJM. The statement can either be incorporated into the cover letter orsubmittedas a separate document and should include at a minimum a description of your spiritual disciplines (prayer study etc.) and your current fellowship or place of worship.
