The EUO Production Specialist directly supports production management in the technical execution and integration of production responsibilities within assigned production areas and with external support areas.
The Production Specialist responsibilities include:
- Represent Production Operations in identification and resolution of problems which impact product schedule or quality
- Serve as Production Support Manager (PSM) as required
- Monitor coordinate and resolve issues related to production schedules and equipment/tooling availability
- Support Production Operations management on training status staffing actions and other personnel activities as requested
- Perform the associated duties of a supervisor on an as needed basis
- Assist manager with implementation of Conduct of Operations requirements and practices including conduct of assessments and surveillances implementation of corrective actions required reading calibration tracking procedural documentation requirements material accountability tracking etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned to provide leadership in maintaining safe working conditions proactively preventing injuries contaminations and exposures and supporting the safe efficient and effective flow of work within the area
- Lead and participate in Value Stream Element (VSET) teams utilizing Lean Six Sigma Continuous Improvement etc. for the development of new or improved techniques systems processes or methodologies to improve productivity and eliminate waste

- Production Management for meeting EUO production deliverables and monitoring performance against established schedules
- Production Support Manager for timely and thorough completion of assigned tasks that assist in completion of supervisory responsibilities

- Bachelors degree: Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- OR Masters degree: Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- OR PhD: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Fifteen or more years of relevant education training and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting
- In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e. High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative)
- Typical experience ranging from 10 to 15 years
- Strong technical organizational and communication skills
- Experience with deployment of Lean or Six Sigma principles and implementations
- Familiarization with SAP ME and its capabilities
- Knowledge of wet chemistry and metal production operations and their associated requirements
- Familiarity with general chemistry production schedules and maintenance activities
- Strong desire to improve and the ability to motivate and work well with others
- Participation or Leadership of a process improvement team is preferred

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
