Steele Solutions is a leading manufacturer of steel work platforms material handling systems safety structures and custom-engineered solutions. We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our team and support customers across a variety of industries.

This role combines estimating and customer interaction to develop cost-effective solutions for unique customer projects. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving working with technical drawings and collaborating with sales engineering and project management teams to bring projects from concept to quotation.

Location: Tiffin Ohio
Schedule: Office Generally 4 9s and a 4 on Friday
Travel: Limited occasional customer site visits as needed

What Youll Do

• Review customer specifications blueprints drawings and project requirements.
• Develop accurate cost estimates and quotations for steel platforms gravity chutes lockers and other custom solutions.
• Determine material labor and manufacturing requirements for proposed projects.
• Generate bills of materials and identify cost drivers that impact project pricing.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineering Manufacturing and Project Management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Create customized solutions using standard SSI products and components.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes reduce costs and increase efficiency.
• Assist with product improvements and enhancements based on customer feedback and market needs.
• Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.

What Were Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Ability to read CAD software 2D and 3D models.
• Strong analytical mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel Outlook Teams and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in estimating manufacturing engineering support applications engineering technical sales or project engineering.
• Experience working in steel fabrication metals manufacturing structural steel material handling or industrial equipment environments.
• Experience developing bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing estimates.
• Familiarity with distributor networks and B2B customer relationships.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and custom fabricated products.

Technical Skills

Preferred experience with one or more of the following:

• AutoCAD
• 3D Modeling Software
• BOM Creation
• Cost Estimating
• Manufacturing Processes
• Engineering Documentation
