ESP Instructional Clerical

General Purpose of Job: Assist the classroom teacher with instructional tasks working directly and indirectly with students. These tasks will constitute the major portion (4.5 hours/day) of the Educational Support Professional time. Includes lunch and recess supervision as well as Stop Sign Duty at dismissal.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in general classroom operational procedures such as setting up and operating audiovisual equipment setting up physical education equipment preparing and setting up art supplies.
• Work directly with students individually or in small groups on academic and motor or social skills e.g. math science English color recognition decision making self-esteem building etc.
• Assist students and teachers in large group activities/projects such as art physical education dramatics.
• Seek out special instructional materials to assist with students having particular learning problems e.g. separate math skill worksheet not a part of teachers curriculum.
• Type worksheets tests or various instructional material; duplicate and assemble.
• Correct tests via computer. Record results in grade books.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal or designee.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Applicants must be Highly Qualified-Applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
  • Two years of study at an institution of higher education; Minnesotas standard; A minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended OR
  • An Associates (or higher) degree; Minnesotas standard: An AA AS AAS (or higher) degree OR
  • Received a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
    • District will pay for the exam.

Work schedule:5.5 hours/day (5.25 hours instructional; 0.25hours clerical);
