Job Summary

Job summary:To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence courage and confidence to achieve their dreams contribute to community and engage in a lifetime of learning by assisting teaching staff and student with instructional support in the classroom.

Responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
  • Assist the Principal School Counselors and Instructional Assistants with social-emotional learning and behavior support to individual students.
  • Supervise students in large group situations in classroom and other areas of the building or small groups.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups instructionally.
  • Assist in small group assessments and data management as it relates to student work in the areas of reading and math.
  • Perform functions associated with classroom protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • HighlyQualified - applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
    • Two years of study at an institution of higher education (a minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended); OR
    • An associates degree (or higher); OR
    • Received a passing score on the ParaPro ParaEducator or ParaPathwaysAssessment.

Bargaining unit: Educational Support Professionals

Salary: Classification 1 (clerical) and Classification 2 (instructional); view salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above accessible via ourEmployee Contracts page

Work schedule: Monday through Friday9:30 am to 4:00 pm

FTE:6 hours/day (4.5 hours instructional; 1.5 hours clerical)
