Job Summary

Position Location: This position is hybrid and will be based in ACTs NYC office.

Reports to: Coordinator of Workforce Programs

Employment Type: Part-time Internship

Duration: September 1st to November 27th 2026 ( 3 months)

Hours: Up to 12 hours per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Salary: $22 per hour

Position Description:

ACT is seeking a motivated intern to join our Workforce Team in Fall 2026. The internship will support our Healthcare Support Career Accelerator tutoring program during the Fall 2026 cohort.

This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education and workforce development while building skills in program coordination participant engagement and community-based service delivery.

This internship position will run for 3 months and conclude on November 27th 2026.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the ESOL instructor during in-person HSCA classes (setup materials attendance).
  • Provide weekly group and/or 1-on-1 tutoring for HSCA participants .
  • Assist with administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience facilitating tutoring sessions for individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
  • Excellent in-person verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous tutoring or ESOL teaching experience is highly preferred.
  • Must have access to a working laptop.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite Microsoft Suite and other common business software.
  • Understanding of and passion for ACTs mission and values.
  • Positive proactive and solution-oriented team player.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort working with diverse immigrant communities; multilingual a plus (e.g. French).
  • Alignment with ACTs mission and values.
  • Must be available to come in on Tuesdays and Thursdays during class time
