ESH Business & Technology Enablement Lead

Job Summary
We have an opening for an ESH Business & Technology Enablement Lead. In this role you will gather and translate ESH business and information technology requirements serve as a liaison between LivIT and ESH business owners and apply strong project management skills to transform business needs into actionable sustainable IT solutions. You will support solution evaluation design testing implementation user adoption and sustainment helping ensure that new solutions are effectively understood and used across affected ESH programs and user groups. A strong background and demonstrated experience in ESH operations will be essential as you collaborate across ESH LivIT and partner organizations to support project execution and application implementation. This position is within the Operations Department of the Environment Safety & Health (ESH) Directorate.
This position may offer a hybrid schedule which includes the flexibility to work from home one or more days per week after a probationary period. The specifics of the hybrid schedule including the exact number of days required in the office and virtual work options may vary based on the needs of the team and the organization.
You will:
- Apply knowledge of ESH programs operations and compliance requirements to gather analyze and translate ESH business needs into clear actionable and testable IT requirements that support effective solution development and implementation.
- Serve as a liaison between ESH business owners LivIT data specialists and partner organizations to communicate requirements and support solution evaluation design testing implementation adoption and sustainment.
- Lead efforts to analyze current-state processes identify gaps and root causes and develop clear process maps and future-state improvements for the IT portfolio.
- Utilize project management skills to lead highly complex ESH Application Management-related projects including project definition planning scheduling risk management stakeholder engagement execution implementation monitoring and closeout.
- Facilitate user acceptance training communications and adoption activities to help ensure that implemented technology solutions are effectively understood and used across affected ESH programs and user groups.
- Support the administration and execution of the ESH Software Review Board to ensure the effective evaluation prioritization and approval of proposed information technology-related business and functional requirements for software changes workflows dashboards reports and other technology-enabled solutions in coordination with appropriate business and technical stakeholders.
- Represent ESH in both institutional and departmental AI initiatives by coordinating business input identifying practical use cases and defining requirements data needs risks and measures of success.
- Work in conjunction with the Business Architect to facilitate working sessions and provide concise briefings to ESH leadership on requirements project status risks technology needs adoption and opportunities for improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelors degree in engineering physical science or other ESH related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Substantial knowledge of or experience with ESH programs operations compliance functions or related technical organizations within a regulated research and development Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) or national laboratory environment.
- Substantial experience gathering analyzing documenting and translating business needs into clear actionable and testable information technology requirements including data workflow reporting dashboard and application requirements.
- Experience partnering with IT organizations to evaluate implement improve or sustain business applications and technology-enabled solutions.
- Expertise analyzing highly advanced current-state processes identifying gaps and root causes developing process maps and designing or implementing future-state improvements including identifying functional interdependencies and reducing cross-silo redundancies.
- Highly advanced experience leading or supporting projects through definition planning execution monitoring implementation and closeout including management of risks schedules stakeholders and competing priorities that may require in-depth analysis.
- Experience representing a technical or operational organization in emerging artificial intelligence initiatives including contributing to AI maturity assessments identifying implementation barriers coordinating business input and working with information technology partners to develop practical solutions.
- Exceptional problem-solving conflict resolution persuasion negotiation and consensus-building skills coupled with independent judgment to ensure deliverables are achieved efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications We Desire
- Possession or past completion of industry recognized project management certification(s).
- Proven experience in identifying functional interdependencies and addressing cross-silo redundancies within an organization with a focus on developing and implementing effective solutions.
Pay Range: $185850- $235692 Annually
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to specific competencies relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location performance and business or organizational needs.
