ESG Due Diligence Consultant
Contract to hire Operating Partner pathway (EHS / sustainability track)
You will make sure the buyer isnt acquiring a cleanup bill. Many VDS industries including chemicals mining oil & gas and heavy manufacturing carry real site and permit risk.

You will make sure the buyer isnt acquiring a cleanup bill. Many VDS industries including chemicals mining oil & gas and heavy manufacturing carry real site and permit risk.
What youll do
- Scope and review Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments with qualified environmental firms.
- Assess site contamination legacy liabilities and ecological risks.
- Check compliance with air water waste and hazardous materials permits (EPA OSHA and state rules).
- Review EHS programs safety records incident history and open enforcement actions.
- Evaluate ESG and sustainability exposure including emissions reporting and investor expectations.
- Estimate remediation and compliance costs and recommend indemnities or price adjustments.
- After close lead EHS integration and a safety and sustainability improvement plan.
- 7 years in environmental consulting EHS leadership or transaction environmental review.
- Degree in environmental science engineering or a related field; PE or CHMM a plus.
- Hands-on familiarity with ASTM E1527 Phase I standards and regulatory permitting.
- Experience in specialty chemicals oil & gas mining or industrial manufacturing preferred.
