REPORTS TO:HS/EHS Family & Community Partnership Coordinator
SALARY RANGE:$55000 - $60000
LOCATION: Brooklyn
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8 am-4 pm or 9 am-5 pm; Some weekends required. Schedule may vary due to program needs. Time will vary depending on program needs

JOB SUMMARY: The ERSEA/Jr Family Community Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the programs ERSEA (Eligibility Recruitment Selection Enrollment and Attendance) plan to ensure full compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) providing onsite support and guidance to family service staff in the implementation of the ERSEA requirements when enrolling families into the program and collaborating with the family service staff in implementing family activities and events that promote the program and expand outreach. This role will also support the Family & Community Partnership Coordinator in with compliance oversight and program operations across multiple sites.
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE and SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Human Services required
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards particularly ERSEA regulations
- Ability to communicate and provide presentations to large and small groups
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff children parents outside agencies and the public
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with local community agencies to produce formal linkage agreements & community partnerships
- Knowledge of the social services and early childhood education available in the are

- Ability to project professionalism in conducting daily activities
- Excellent oral and written and computer communications skills
- Working knowledge of local community and agency resources
- Knowledge of local resources customs and language
- Ability to work well with an ethnically and linguistically diverse population
- Flexibility in traveling throughout Brooklyn
PRE- EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Successfully clear; NYS DOI Fingerprint Screening NYS Central Registry Clearance Sex Offender Registry Clearance three (3) reference checks physical examination with updated TB test Tdap MMR varicella (fees may apply).
- Meet all employee health requirements in Article 47 (DOHMH) and Head Start performance standards.
- Mandated Reporter training certificate (every 2 years) and comply with agencys policy and procedure regarding identification and reporting of child abuse and neglect.
- Obtain First Aid/CPR and Preventive infectious diseases certificate within the first year of employment.
- Meets all health requirements in Article 47 (DOHMH) and Head Start Performance standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee manage and supervise the implementation of the programs ERSEA (Eligibility Recruitment Selection Enrollment and Attendance) plan to ensure full compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS)
- Be fully versed in the ERSEA regulations and child care eligibility process and application to support family service staff
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team in the process for community needs assessment which informs the ERSEA plan by prioritizing services to families most in need of Head Start and Early Head Start services (HS/EHS)
- Provide onsite support and guidance to family service staff in the implementation of the ERSEA requirements when enrolling families into the program
- Review monitor and supervise the completion of the ERSEA documentation and files as outlined in the ERSEA plan and as required by HSPPS
- Ensure full compliance of ERSEA documentation by all sites and family service staff in collaboration with the Family/Community Partnership Coordinator
- Lead the planning process for outreach and recruitment of eligible families in the the communities served by the program;
- Coordinating community outreach events recruitment fairs and partnership initiatives that involve family service staff Directors and other support staff as needed to reach full enrollment; track outreach impact.
- Develop implement and supervise recruitment plans based on the needs of each site and ensure full implementation and tracking of outreach efforts to determine impact on enrollment
- Partner with other community organizations for tabling community outreach and other family events to support recruitment and outreach in collaboration with family service staff and other program staff
- Ensure weekly outreach and recruitment events at each site for promoting the program and increase program enrollment to ensure sites meet 97% enrollment or higher of their funded enrollment
- Collaborate with the family service staff in implementing family activities and events that promote the program and expand outreach
- In collaboration with the Family and Community Partnership Coordinator train family service staff in the implementation of ERSEA
- Monitor attendance (chronic absence reasons)- communicate with key staff on a monthly basis children falling below attendance requirements and address strategies on increasing attendance plans with families.
- Assist the Family & Community Partnership Coordinator with: establishing and promoting the engagement of Policy Council members (ex elections meetings setup documentation); Compliance file reviews and follow up; coordination of parent leadership activities including parent meetings and engagement initiatives; tracking engagement across multiple sites
- Other duties as assigned.
