Position: Equipment Services Technician/Metrology Technician II
Location: Plainville MA 02762
Duration: 12 Months

Work Type: Onsite
Shift: Monday to Friday - 7AM to 3:30PM

Summary

The Metrology Technician II supports scheduled and unscheduled calibration and metrology activities to ensure manufacturing laboratory utility and facility equipment remain compliant with cGMP requirements and regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in supporting operational readiness for a state-of-the-art commercial manufacturing facility while partnering with Manufacturing Quality Facilities and Engineering teams to maintain equipment reliability and continuous operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Perform calibration and metrology services for manufacturing laboratory utility and facility equipment in compliance with cGMP NIST and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute scheduled and unscheduled calibration activities to support production and facility operations.
  • Document calibration activities using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Perform gown qualification and support cleanroom operations as required.
  • Identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for calibration and metrology processes.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Manufacturing Sciences Quality Assurance Quality Control and Engineering teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other manufacturing sites to promote metrology best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs safety policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of business objectives.
Required Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors degree in a technical or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in instrument calibration and repair within pharmaceutical manufacturing or other highly regulated environments with a degree or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations NIST standards and local state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Blue Mountain MAXIMO or similar software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical pneumatic and electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and documentation practices.
  • Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • High level of professionalism integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to aseptically gown and support cleanroom operations.
  • Ability to read write and review technical documentation for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. climb stairs and perform physical activities including walking reaching kneeling crouching and prolonged computer use.
  • Ability to work safely with dry ice liquid nitrogen hazardous materials and varying environmental conditions while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
