What is an Equipment Repair Technician

An Equipment Repair Technician will perform routine activities involved in preparing the inbound and outbound rental units by cleaning testing troubleshooting and packaging. Perform a variety of manual tasks such as testing parts deburring parts painting assisting in material handling or assembly operations etc. Assist salespeople with any field requirements including new and old system troubleshooting and repair.

What Were Looking For

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of related manufacturing experience and a basic understanding of pumps motors and valves is preferred. The hours for this position are 7:00 am-3:30 pm.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of materials and inventory.
2. Visually inspect product to ensure that the product has not been damaged after return from customer.
3. Use power washer for cleaning units upon their return.
4. Effectively assemble and hydro test the products for qualified area.
5. Inspect test and/or evaluate all parts manufactured in the specific area and perform quality-related analysis.
6. Perform routine preventative maintenance as required to maintain equipment in top operational order.
7. Use hand tools power tools testing instruments and written specifications to troubleshoot adjust repair and maintain a wide variety of rental units and their controls.
8. May track inventory to prepare other documentation on a computer.
9. Effectively perform material handling activities such as crating packaging shipping receiving picking lifting moving and using materials handling equipment when necessary. (Such as: lift trucks tow motors cranes high lifts etc.)
10. Utilize small and large tools hoists dollies and other devices when necessary.
11. Understand basic hydraulics and lubrication fundamentals.
12. Understand operating principles for components of reclamation and equipment and operate the equipment effectively with little or no supervision.
13. Flexible to travel and visit customer locations for on-site services.
14. Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned including but not limited to wearing protective clothing special handling of chemicals special handling of product safety/rescue equipment usage etc.
15. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company as well as suppliers customers and peers effectively.
16. Comply with policies procedures standards and rules of the Company.
17. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
18. Maintain work area in a clean orderly and safe manner.
19. Punctual regular and consistent attendance.
20. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

• Three or more years of related manufacturing experience preferred.
• One-year mechanical experience with pumps motors valves and fluid dynamics is preferred.
• One-year experience within the Oil Fuel Fluid Power Industries preferred.
• Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and usage.
• Ability to use a wide variety of power and hand tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Ability to handle non-routine standard projects and tasks.
• Able and willing to drive company van and truck (non-CDL) to client sites and if needed vendor locations (for Clark-Reliance).
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read write and follow verbal instructions in Standard English required.

Physical and Technical Environment

• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds using proper lifting techniques or other available resources such as lifting or moving equipment or help from another employee. Must be able to sit stand walk reach with hands and arms bend and stoop in a normal office environment. Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area walking climbing stairs utilizing elevator. Clean and orderly manufacturing environment some exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards. Overtime required at periodic intervals to respond to project deadlines. Exposure to noise dust heat and cold on a regular basis. Separate exposure to machine and tool hazards requiring care and attention to safety rules and standards.
