Job Summary

Purpose
The Equipment Operatoris responsible forthe safe and efficient operation of various construction equipmentincluding dozers scrapers loaders and other machineryto support earthmoving grading and material handling activities on site. This role ensures the integrity of haul roads stockpiles and excavation areas whilemaintaininghigh standardsof safety equipment maintenance and operational productivity. The operator collaborates closely with crew members and supervisors to meet project goalsmonitormaterial quality and contribute to overall site cleanliness and functionality.
Focus & Scope
Essential duties and responsibilities i.e. those which are basic necessary and an integral part of the job are indicated below:

Primary Equipment Operation
Dozer Operations
  1. Perform material pushing and grading tomaintainhaul roads and manage stockpiles.
  1. Execute excavation and grading tasks using blade and ripper bar in coordination with grade setters and scraper operators.
  1. Conduct slope grading using D-6 dozers asrequired.
  1. Track-walk equipment to and from designated work areas.
  1. Perform end-of-day clean-up around tracks and allow equipment cool-down.

Scraper Operations
  • Excavate and transport overburden and other materials across the site.
  1. Control scraper depth and paddle rotation during cutting and loading operations.
  1. Haul material between cut and dump areas adhering to cycle time standards.
  1. Dump loads while in motion ensuring proper material placement.
  1. Road equipment to and from fuel lines job sites and secure locations.
  1. Attach and calibrate grade laser systems for elevation control.
  1. Operate in tandem (push-pull) or with dozerassistancefor loading as needed.

Loader Operations
  1. Feed crushers load haul trucks and manage material flow efficiently.

Other Equipment
  1. Operateadditionalconstruction equipment (e.g. roller backhoe excavator compactor blade tractor) asrequiredto support project completion.

Inspection Maintenance & Safety
  1. Conduct daily pre-operation inspections for all equipment checking fluid levels leaks wear and safety features.
  1. Document inspection results and report maintenance needs promptly.
  1. Perform routine maintenance andequipmentwarm-up procedures.
  1. Clean equipment cabs windows and remove excess material to ensure visibility and operational safety.
  1. Adhere strictly to all safety protocols including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard awareness practices.
  1. Participate in daily Stretch & Flex exercises and complete attendance documentation.

Planning & Monitoring
  1. Receive and review daily task assignments and job-specific instructions.
  1. Orient tocrew responsibilities and adapt to job changes as needed.
  1. Monitor equipment performance and soil conditions to ensure proper compaction and alignment with project specifications.
  1. Plan efficient routes for material movement and spoil distribution.
  1. Interpret grade markers engineering notations and site plans throughout operations.

Communication & Team Collaboration
  1. Maintain clear communication withforemen leadsmen superintendents and grade checkers.
  1. Use hand signals and two-way radios to coordinate with ground personnel and other equipment operators.
  1. Report mechanical issues and operational concerns promptly.
  1. Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and minimize downtime.

Support & Site Maintenance
  1. Assistwith general plant maintenance and site clean-up activities.
  1. Support ground crew with manual tasks (e.g. shoveling jackhammering lifting materials) when equipment is not in operation.

Role Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience & Industry Expertise:
  • Minimum 2 years of experienceoperatingheavy equipment in an industrial or mining setting.
  • Proficiencyin operating dozers scrapers and loaders
Specific Job Requirements:
  • Knowledge of aggregate production processes is a plus.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and terrain.
  • Strong communicationskills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Valid drivers license; CDL preferred but notrequired.
For your safety you willbe requiredto undergo a new hire Fit-for-Duty Test prior to job placement. The Fit-for-Duty test will include a physical examination and the following physical ability tests:

Lifting Tests:
  • Lift 50lbsto your waist level
  • Lift 25lbsto your shoulder level

Carry Test:
  • Carry 50lbs

Climb Test:
  • ClimbLadder

Other Tests:
  • Walking/Standing Test: Stand and walk safely with good balance
  • Stooping and Twisting Test: Bend over and touch your toes while twisting several times.
  • Kneeling Test:Kneel downand stand up several times.
  • Squat Test: Squat and hold the squat position for 30 seconds.
  • Repeated Squat Test: Squat down several times.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$62500 - $87500
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role level geographic location relevant education training or experience among other factors.
