Position Summary
We have an opportunity for an Equipment Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to join our this role you will provide maintenance and technical support for laboratory and manufacturing equipment in a GMP environment. You will help ensure reliable equipment performance to minimize downtime and support production goals. This position is critical to maintaining quality and compliance standards while enabling efficient operations.
Shift: Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm
Location: Kansas City MO
100% Onsite
The Role
Support GMP manufacturing operations by troubleshooting repairing and performing preventive maintenance on manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
Independently troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and PLC-controlled equipment using electrical schematics test equipment and diagnostic tools to minimize downtime.
Perform equipment modifications and electrical system improvements as needed.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Process Engineering Analytical Laboratory Quality Assurance Validation and other teams to support equipment reliability and production objectives.
Perform other assigned duties as required.
The Candidate
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience performing industrial equipment maintenance in a pharmaceutical or other manufacturing environment is required.
Experience with service and repair of manufacturing equipment including electrical and mechanical systems is required.
On an average 8-hour day this position requires the ability to walk sit and stand use hands to handle or feel reach with hands and arms at or above shoulder height and below waist height climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk and hear smell and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision requirements include reading written documents visual inspection of materials and frequent use of a computer monitor.
Preferred Skills & Background
Technical or vocational training and/or trade school is preferred.
Completion of an electrical apprenticeship Journeyman Electrician license or certification Electrical Technician certification or equivalent industrial electrical training is strongly preferred.
Understanding of mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic systems is preferred.
Proficiency in the use of power hand tools and maintenance test equipment is preferred.
Strong industrial electrical troubleshooting skills including the ability to independently diagnose and repair complex electrical and PLC-controlled systems with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in using electrical test equipment interpreting electrical schematics and troubleshooting AC/DC control circuits.
Experience troubleshooting PLCs VFDs motor controls sensors relays and contactors is strongly preferred.
