Stellant is excited to offer an Electrical Design Engineer position at our Torrance facility primarily supporting Power Processing Units (PPU) for Xenon Ion Propulsion Systems (XIPS) while also supporting Electric Power Conditioners (EPC) for our Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTAs) as needed. Stellants industry leading EPCs & PPUs support space borne communications and ion thrusters with over 4700 units in orbit and 290 million operating hours. Similar technology is also utilized for terrestrial applications delivering RF communications electronic warfare and radar for critical commercial and military applications around the globe. This role will be primarily tasked with production support of PPUs plus development of new circuit designs and providing EEE component guidance as needed. Responsibilities will also include providing guidance and leadership on a technical level to a multidisciplinary group of engineers including design test component embedded and project engineers.

• High voltage power supply circuit design.
• Testing and troubleshooting of circuits / power supplies.
• Guide program management for technical issues and assure successful production.
• Supporting customer meetings milestones (CDR PDR MRR ) guiding the team through those events.
• Mentor develop and train junior engineers.
• Actively seek out innovative technologies and oversee new product development to ensure continued industry leadership.
• Support new business activity through proposal review and improvements on current designs

• Engineering Degree in a related field EE preferred with post graduate work a plus.
• Work experience designing and/or testing electronic power conditioners or similar devices with work in the space industry a massive plus. Minimal experience for various levels is defined below:
  • Level II: requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Level III: requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Level IV: requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
• Understanding and comfort with EE design aspects such circuit design electric stress analysis worst case analysis single event upset and others.
• Proficient with circuit design tools (Spice Altium and similar).
• Capable of reading top-level specifications and translating into electrical design needs.
• Experience supporting testing of electrical hardware preferred.
• Hands-on engineering experience with PPUs or other high voltage products preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills utilizing industry-standard root cause corrective action (RCCA) methodologies.
• Must possess exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
