Salary Range: $24.00 - $24.00 per hour

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Position Overview:

The Environmental Services Technician I maintains a clean sanitary and safe environment throughout the hospital in accordance with Community Memorial Healthcares quality standards and all applicable local state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms surgicaland procedural areas bathrooms laboratories offices hallways and other hospital areas; maintaining environmental services supplies and ordering necessary equipment as appropriate; and following proper procedures for the handling and disposal of biohazardous waste.

***EVS TECH I COVID-19 JOB RESPONSIBILITY NOTICE***

An essential job responsibility of the Environmental Services Technician is cleaning patient rooms throughout the hospital including rooms occupied by patients with COVID-19 or other communicable diseases and the potential for exposure during the performance of assigned duties.

Community Memorial Healthcare takes employee health and safety seriously. The EVS Department will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including masks gloves and other required equipment as well as education and training on proper use to help protect employees patients and the community.

Required:

• Must be able to read understand and follow writtenand verbal instructions in English
• Ability to understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) related to the safe use and handling of chemicals
• Ability to interact with patients customers co-workers and all levels of hospital staff in a courteous service-oriented manner
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequentlylift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Preferred:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Previous experience in housekeeping janitorial services or a related field
