Job Summary
SUMMARY:âThe Environmental Services(EVS)Technicianwillberesponsible forthedailycleanliness safety and operational efficiencies of buildings and grounds of the Saint Louis amember ofthe Facilities and Planning Division this positionwill support the Zoos mission andadvocatethe Zoos core values and three keys.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:âThe following reflects Managements definition of essential functions for this position but does not restrictadditionalassigned tasks.â Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position.

- Maintain the cleanliness of assigned Zoospacesduringdesignatedshift.
- Use tools such as brooms mops leaf blowers vacuumsscrubbers extractorsetc. to keep designated areas clean and free of debris.
- Work in close collaboration with all Zoo internal departments.
- Ensure that proper safety guidelines and usage of PPE are maintained at all times.
- Know and understand the Zoo employee handbook and adhere to all stated disciplinary actions and personnel policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.â
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of other employees of mot a responsibility ofthisposition.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ahigh school diploma of equivalent required.
- Ability to work well in a team environment with subordinatespeersand superiors.
- Good judgment with the ability to maketimelyand sound decisions.
- Commitment to excellence andhigh standards.
- Versatility flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Avalid drivers licensepreferred.
- Must be able to work weekends holidays and odd hours as needed.
- All successful candidates for this position willbe requiredto undergo a criminal background check and a drug test. As this is a safety-sensitive role a negative drug test result is mandatory. The drug testscreens forfive substances including marijuana.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to access all areas of buildings grounds public and behind the scenes exhibit areaslocatedacross the Saint Louis Zoo.
- Ability to remain onfeetforlong periods climb stairsbendand stoop.
- Ability to safely lift carry and load 40 poundsa distance of 20feet.
- Physical capacity to endure exposure to inclement weather and hazardous situations. Use of proper PPE engineering controls and other mitigating tools will berequired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position will spend an estimated50% of their time on grounds and50%in a building. Significant exposure to weather is possible.
