Logan Health Shelby is looking for Environmental Services Technician to be part of their team!


This position will work shifts in Shelby Assisted Living and Hospital.


Our Environmental Services Technician position is an as-needed fill-in role designed for individuals who are looking for flexibility while still being part of a team that plays an important role in our organization.


As an Environmental Services Technician you will help create a clean safe and welcoming environment for our patients residents visitors and staff. Depending on where support is needed you may have the opportunity to work in the hospital or our assisted living community giving you variety in your day and the chance to work alongside different teams.

What Youll Do

  • Keep patient resident staff and public areas clean safe and comfortable.
  • Perform routine cleaning and disinfecting according to department standards and infection prevention practices.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized environment throughout the hospital and/or assisted living areas.
  • Stock supplies and assigned carts so teams have what they need to provide excellent care.
  • Safely operate cleaning equipment and other equipment used within the department.
  • Respond to requests pages and department needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Follow established cleaning procedures safety guidelines infection control practices and applicable regulations.
  • Recognize what needs to be done and take initiative without always needing direction.
  • Work independently while also being a dependable and supportive member of the team.
  • Protect the privacy and confidentiality of patients residents visitors and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support the Environmental Services team.

What Were Looking For

  • Previous Environmental Services housekeeping custodial healthcare or related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to jump in and help where needed.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients residents visitors and coworkers.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations appropriately.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn department-specific systems.
  • RQI Responder within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care whichever comes first as applicable to the position.
  • Current drivers license and acceptable driving record required for assignments that include driving.

Schedule: PRN Scheduled As Needed


Logan Health operates 24 hours per day seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual As Needed or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods employee absences and vacations making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs.Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
