Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Aide youll clean and maintain assigned areas of the hospital in a sanitary orderly and attractive condition to promote a clean and healthy environment for all employees patients and guests in accordance with departmental standards.

Every day you will adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You will apply specialized cleaning techniques to designated rooms and equipment replenish supplies such as soap paper towels and tissues and deliver clean linens to patient rooms.

You will be successful in this role if you consistently maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control while following safety protocols and departmental guidelines. Success also depends on reliability attention to detail flexibility to take on additional tasks timely reporting of maintenance issues and a proactive approach to responding to emergencies and supporting a safe healthy environment for patients and staff.

  • Provides daily patient room cleaning including trash removal high and low dusting dust mopping mopping bathroom cleaning and replenishing dispensers.
  • Provides discharge patient room cleaning including trash removal sanitizing furniture high and low dusting wall washing the stripping cleaning and making of the bed and replenishing supplies.
  • Cleans common areas and provides routine corridor cleaning in assigned area.
  • Follows the hospital and department policies and procedures to perform cleaning of support areas (offices supply areas nurses stations waiting areas utility rooms etc.)
  • Maintains adequate supplies for standard precautions and properly utilizes isolation techniques. Maintains adequate supplies for standard precautions and properly utilizes isolation techniques.
  • Handles biohazardous waste properly including the changing of sharps containers.
Job Requirements

  • Fire Safety within 90 Days


Preferred

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Previous experience in healthcare environmental services
