ReNuke Services/Oak Ridge Technologies is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our clients site in Idaho Falls ID!
Position Purpose: Apply scientific principles theories and concepts to achieve ICP mission objectives and to specifically provide technical support on a variety of activities associated with the Calcine Disposition Project. Technical support with development and production of primary and secondary technical documents required by various regulatory requirements (NEPA RCRA and CERCLA) and DOE orders and standards (DOE O 435.1). Interact and collaborate with project management and technical staff to address DOE and Agency comments on project documents. Additional responsibilities include: - Develop and publish technical documents (i.e. engineering design files annual reports and conceptual site models) by evaluating data and then summarizing results conclusion and recommendations. - Support development of project documentation as required by DOE standards specifically DOE O 413.3B - Contribute to the development of project scope schedule and budget. - Ensure cost effective solutions are developed in accordance with applicable standards and company policies and procedures. - Participate in technical meetings to ensure analyses are performed in accordance with applicable standards and company policies and procedures. - Provide support on other Calcine Disposition Project activities (e.g. design testing and operations) or scientific analyses document reviews and field support for other ICP projects as assigned.
40% - Provide technical support on producing primary and secondary technical documents to meet regulatory requirements and DOE standards 10% - Interact and collaborate with project management and technical staff to identify and provide solutions to complex regulatory issues 10% - Actively participate in meetings with project personnel technical staff and DOE and the Agencies 30% - Support development of project documentation as required by DOE standards and contribute to the development of project scope schedule and budget 10% - Perform other support activities analyses and reviews as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience): Bachelors of science degree 5 years relevant experience in scientific and engineering principals associated with site characterization and remediation (dose and risk assessments multi-media transport modeling radiological analysis and disposal site performance assessments) and facility design construction and closure.
Special Requirements/Training (Optional): Prefer experience producing analyses and preparing documentation required under DOE O 435.1 RCRA and CERCLA. Experience interfacing with multiple support organizations (internal and external) as well as with DOE and various stakeholders (Idaho DEQ U.S. EPA Tribal Nation and the public). Experience or familiarity with developing project documentation required under DOE standards (DOE O 413.3B specifically). Experience working at a DOE facility and familiarity with DOE orders and requirements.
