Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist in Tucson Arizona for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support workplace health and safety programs across engineering manufacturing and operations environments. The specialist will help maintain regulatory compliance conduct inspections and investigations implement safety programs provide training and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

• University degree or equivalent relevant experience with 3 years of prior experience or an advanced degree in a related field with 2 years of experience.
• 3 years of applicable experience with a focus on workplace safety.
• Experience supporting Environmental Health & Safety programs.
• Knowledge of applicable workplace safety regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting workplace or facility safety inspections.
• Experience investigating injuries incidents or safety concerns.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and developing corrective actions.
• Ability to develop administer and maintain safety policies and programs.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively across engineering manufacturing operations and other functional organizations.
• Ability to provide safety guidance and support to employees and contractors.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.

• Previous experience working in a government-contractor environment.
• Experience applying regulatory Environmental Health & Safety requirements.
• Experience diagnosing complex EH&S issues and implementing practical corrective measures.
• Experience working with databases or other information-management systems.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.

• Coordinate with business partners regarding facility and employee health and safety concerns.
• Support engineering and operations safety programs.
• Maintain EH&S policies and programs to support regulatory compliance.
• Support programs involving contractor safety confined spaces Job Hazard Assessments electrical safety lockout/tagout fall protection machine guarding powered industrial vehicles cranes and hoists ergonomics and fire and life safety.
• Monitor and evaluate workplace safety programs.
• Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with established EH&S requirements.
• Serve as an EH&S representative for assigned facilities and safety councils.
• Conduct injury investigations and root cause analyses.
• Develop corrective actions and track them through completion.
• Lead health and safety improvement projects.
• Support internal and external EH&S audits and assessments.
• Develop and deliver instructor-led safety training.
• Support continuous-improvement initiatives across site safety programs.

• Full-time onsite in Tucson Arizona.
• First shift.
• 9/80A work schedule.

• $33.29 per hour.
