Job Description:

• As the EHS Specialist II you will prepare and/or assist in preparing policies and procedures in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).
• You have knowledge in EHS Programs including but not limited to Powered Industrial Vehicles Ergonomics Training Risk Assessment and Emergency Response.
• Perform routine tasks with little instruction and supervision and general instruction on new assignments.
• This position will work closely with both senior internal and external personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct EHS walk through frequently including documentation and follow-up as needed.
• Complete monthly EHS reports
• Support incident investigations including near miss events compliance issues work-related injuries and/or illnesses.
• Support sites Ergonomics Program. Act as liaison to associates and others receiving or requesting ergonomic evaluations.
• Provide guidance on EHS Training Programs.
• Review associate EHS Observations.
• Support the sites Hazardous Waste Program
• Maintain working knowledge of local State and Federal Regulations that apply to our operations including but not limited to Federal OSHA EPA and California Health and Safety Code.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience working in a warehouse distribution center or biotech or medical device manufacturing environment with safety and/or environmental responsibilities.
• Experience working around hazardous waste programs strongly preferred.
• Familiar with DHS OSHA EPA RCRA Air Quality and Water Pollution regulations preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to organize work and establish priorities.
• Effective customer service skills.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Must be proficient working with PCs. Requires good command of Word Excel PowerPoint e-mail and the Internet.
