Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager with experience in the construction industry to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of health and safety within our organization. The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing implementing and maintaining safety programs that comply with OSHA standards EPA regulations and workers compensation laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills with a commitment to fostering safety while working in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures that support PMI and PCMs safety commitment of promoting communication compliance and compassion all tied together with respect.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Lead weekly company-wide safety meetings providing ongoing education.
  • Provide training and development programs on preventive safety practices first aid CPR and emergency response procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding EHS issues providing guidance on best practices in construction environments.
  • Develop and coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare employees for potential emergencies.
  • Conduct regular job site safety inspections to identify hazards recommend corrective actions and to promote a culture of safety.
  • Manage multiple site safety representatives.
  • Conduct internal system audits for policy compliance and employee performance regarding safety requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections training sessions incident reports and corrective actions in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain and provide site SDS documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to promote occupational health initiatives and ensure adherence to workers compensation laws.
  • Stay updated on industry trends regulations and best practices related to environmental health and safety.

Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health Safety Management Environmental Science or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an EHS role for a construction company is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards EPA regulations workers compensation law and occupational health principles is essential.
  • Strong skills in report writing and documentation are required.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR is required; additional certifications in EHS-related fields are a plus.
  • Proven ability to conduct training sessions effectively and engage employees in safety initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis for incident investigations.

OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for Construction

Highly Valued Training (not required)

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician)
  • CST or CSHO programs via universities or OSHA institute
