Environmental Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain environmental permits with regulatory agencies (BLM USFS DOGM)

Monitor mining operation to assure compliance that all environmental regulatory permits

Accompany agency personnel during environmental inspections

Plan and manage projects associated with environmental compliance

Preferred Education & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mining/Civil/Environmental) Environmental Science or equivalent experience
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Strong communication (listening verbal written) and interpersonal skills
• General understanding of engineering principles (material science water/waste-water soil/rock mechanics hydraulics/pump networks economics)
• Excellent computer skills (AutoCAD Excel Word PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering License (PE)
• Experience in underground continuous and longwall mining methods
• Experience in regulatory (MSHA BLM USFS and/or DOGM) permitting and compliance
• Experience in project management
