Thilmany is a leading manufacturer of specialty paper products with a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship regulatory compliance sustainability and continuous improvement. Our Environmental team plays a critical role in ensuring responsible operations while supporting innovative solutions that reduce environmental impact and improve performance.

We are seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer Intern to join our team during the summer of 2027. This position provides hands-on experience in environmental compliance sustainability initiatives wastewater treatment operations air emissions management and environmental performance improvement within a complex manufacturing environment.

Pay Rate

• $27.00 per hour
• Housing stipend available for qualified candidates relocating to the Kaukauna area for the duration of the internship or co-op assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental compliance activities related to air water waste and wastewater permits.
• Support data collection analysis and reporting for regulatory and internal environmental requirements.
• Assist with monitoring and tracking environmental performance metrics.
• Participate in sustainability and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support environmental audits and inspections.
• Assist with wastewater treatment system performance evaluations.
• Collect and analyze operational and environmental data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop reports presentations and recommendations for environmental projects.
• Collaborate with Engineering Operations Maintenance and EHS teams on environmental initiatives.
• Participate in safety and environmental training programs.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering Environmental Science Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Rising sophomore junior senior or graduate student with plans to return to school following the internship.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
