Entry Level Design Technician I

Were seeking a motivated Design Technician I to join our growing team in San Antonio TX! This hybrid role is a great opportunity to support exciting electric utility infrastructure projects while growing your career with a collaborative and experienced team.

Job Summary:

Design Technician applies developing technical expertise to solve simple problems and management skills to provide oversight of work in a specific area of developing expertise with close supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop skills in their field of study and the ability to work with some degree of independence.

What Youll Do:

• Meets and exceeds established productivity and quality targets. Is mindful of project timelines and budget constraints.
• Conducts communications in a professional and clear manner; communications aretimelyand inan appropriate formatfor the topic.
• Identifiesinformation to be communicated to the client and project stakeholders throughteam leads and project managers.
• Completesdesign tasks for associated utility design projects. Tasks include but are not limited todesigndrafting calculations easement validation; cost estimating & permit package development
• Managing multipletaskstoensuretimely successful completion of projects resultingina high levelof customer satisfaction and company/departmental goal achievements.
• Performsaccurateupdates/additions of new data to client records on all simpleand some mediumwork contentdaily
• Identifieserrors on source material and/or client data records and informsappropriate projectmembers of resolutionassistancerequired.
• Coordinatesprojects toaccomplishtimelyconstruction and meet client needs
• Learnsandincorporatescompany safety rules and policies company design standards and governing authority regulations into daily work and designs. Designs will meet all requirements of applicable company safety standards company distribution construction standards and governing authority regulations
• Self-checkswork assignments prior tosubmittingfor review completeswork with minimal errors. Participatesin peer reviews and QC reviews.

Required Qualifications:

• Entry levelposition:desire to learn and work in a technical field
• Priorexperiencein constructionutility orpipelineindustrypreferred
• KnowledgeofComputer Aided Design or GIS Designis a plus
