English Teacher (Temporary 27) Needham High School SY26-27

The Needham Public Schools seeks outstanding applicants for the position of 1.0 FTE Temporary English Teacher at Needham High School. This position will cover all professional responsibilities for a 12-week maternity leave beginning on or nearOctober20th and concluding on or near January19th.

The successful candidate will plan/teach four sections of English and work collaboratively with members of the English Department to support student learning and growth. Under the general supervision of the English Department Chair this teacher will be responsible for advancing students critical reading thinking and writing skills and guiding their inquiry of diverse literary artifacts. As a Needham High School educator this teacher will work collaboratively to integrate the attributes skills and knowledge made explicit in the Portrait of a Needham Graduate emphasizing the preparation of students to become socially and culturally responsive contributors.

A minimum of a Bachelors degree is required; a Masters degree is preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills have experience working with and/or teaching high school students and understand the diverse needs of students at this age. Additionally candidates who have a collaborative work ethic training/experience in the use of instructional technology a commitment to inclusive pedagogy and the potential to contribute to student life beyond the classroom are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

Compensation for substitutes is based on the duration of the coverage:$22.40/hr -$26.46/hr (SY6 Rates)
