English Language Learner Teacher

Jonesboro Public Schools is accepting applications for an English Learner Teacher.

Specific Requirements for the English Learner (EL) specialist:

• Must have an ESL Endorsement
• Must possess an Arkansas Teaching License
• Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of best practices in education for K-12 English Learners;
• Develop and present effective lessons to promote the English Language Development of English Learners.
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of records of English Language Learners
• Develop and present professional development for classroom teachers administrators and instructional support staff focused on supporting a diverse population including English Learners.
• Model coach and support implementation of lessons and instructional strategies and assist teachers with supporting a diverse population including English Learners.

Additional general job expectations/requirements:

• Experience working with families students or speakers of other languages
• Ability to communicate and work well with diverse populations and willingness and ability to adhere to the statewide procedures and standards.

• Demonstrates efficient utilization of current technology for communication data collection and reporting;
• Submits all required documentation and data in a timely manner;
• Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
• Must maintain strict confidentiality
