Job Summary
SUMMARY:
We are hiring an Engineering/CAD Operator Apprentice to assist our Engineer 20 30 hours weekly 1st this role The Engineering / CAD Operator Apprentice supports the engineering and design team by creating updating and maintaining technical drawings and documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This entry-level apprenticeship provides hands-on training in drafting standards engineering processes and manufacturing or construction design practices while developing technical and professional skills.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to learn technical software and processes.
- Operate with a sense of positive energy and urgency.
- Ability to work effectively in both a team and autonomous environment.
- Able to adapt to the companys culture work safely and possess a positive attitude.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Coursework in drafting CAD engineering
- Familiarity with AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor or similar CAD software
- Mechanical aptitude or technical experience
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Currently enrolled in a technical engineering or relevant field

YOUR ROLE:
- Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings under supervision
- Assist engineers and designers with project layouts and technical documentation
- Maintain accurate drawing files revisions and records
- Interpret sketches specifications and engineering instructions
- Ensure drawings comply with company and industry standards
- Support project teams with measurements calculations and material take-offs
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings
- Learn and apply safety quality and drafting procedures
- Organize electronic files and maintain document control systems
- Assist with prototype fabrication or installation documentation as needed
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Monday thru Friday minimum 20 hours; flexible schedule between the hours of 8a 4p.
COMPENSATION & SHIFT:
- Starting $17; commensurate with experience and knowledge
