SUMMARY:

We are hiring an Engineering/CAD Operator Apprentice to assist our Engineer 20 30 hours weekly 1st this role The Engineering / CAD Operator Apprentice supports the engineering and design team by creating updating and maintaining technical drawings and documentation using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This entry-level apprenticeship provides hands-on training in drafting standards engineering processes and manufacturing or construction design practices while developing technical and professional skills.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to learn technical software and processes.
  • Operate with a sense of positive energy and urgency.
  • Ability to work effectively in both a team and autonomous environment.
  • Able to adapt to the companys culture work safely and possess a positive attitude.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Coursework in drafting CAD engineering
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD SolidWorks Inventor or similar CAD software
  • Mechanical aptitude or technical experience
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Currently enrolled in a technical engineering or relevant field

YOUR ROLE:

  • Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD drawings under supervision
  • Assist engineers and designers with project layouts and technical documentation
  • Maintain accurate drawing files revisions and records
  • Interpret sketches specifications and engineering instructions
  • Ensure drawings comply with company and industry standards
  • Support project teams with measurements calculations and material take-offs
  • Participate in design reviews and team meetings
  • Learn and apply safety quality and drafting procedures
  • Organize electronic files and maintain document control systems
  • Assist with prototype fabrication or installation documentation as needed


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Monday thru Friday minimum 20 hours; flexible schedule between the hours of 8a 4p.

COMPENSATION & SHIFT:

  • Starting $17; commensurate with experience and knowledge
