Requirements

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:

OPTION I: High school diploma its equivalent or higher*.

OPTION II: Six (6) months of construction maintenance or manual labor experience.

*Includes: a recognized high school equivalency credential such as GED or an associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university**.

PHYSICAL CLASS:
Physical Class 4 Arduous: This class involves frequent heavy lifting over 25 pounds often combined with bending twisting or working above ground on irregular surfaces. It includes those positions that occasionally demand extraordinary physical activity such as those in Safety positions.

LICENSE:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENT INFORMATION:
**To receive credit for your high school diploma or its equivalent include a legible copy of all relevant documents including your diploma transcripts or letter/certificate from an accredited institution or email it to within five (5) calendar days of filing for your application. Acceptable documentation includes: a diploma from a public or private high school accredited by an organization recognized by the Unites States Department of Education including U.S. Department of Defense high schools; successful completion of the GED HiSET TASC or CHSPE. When emailing please indicate your name exam number and exam title in the subject line.

To receive credit for your associates degree or higher include a legible copy of all relevant official documents including your transcript from an accredited institution. The document should show the date the degree was conferred and be in English. If not in English then translation is required. International degrees must be evaluated for equivalency to U.S. standards if not listed in the International Handbook of Universities or World Higher Education Database. Documents marked as unofficial will not be accepted. EXAMINATION CONTENT:

This examination consists of a Multiple-Choice and/or Simulation Assessment weighted 100% measuring:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Numerical Calculation

Applicants must receive a passing score of 70% or higher on the assessment to be added to the eligible register.

MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND/OR SIMULATION ASSESSMENT(S) ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

Notice of non-acceptance and Final Result letters will be sent via email. Test scores cannot be given over the phone.

TESTING ACCOMMODATION:

Veterans Credit:
