Job Summary
The Engineering Test Technician at Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is primarily responsible for the electrical mechanical and environmental testing and evaluation of new and existing commercial and consumer fitness equipment. They will berequiredto build test stands set-up perform andmonitortesting activities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assemblemodify validateandmaintaintest equipment and related structural assemblies by reading and interpreting schematics engineeringdrawingsand sketches.
Takedirectionfromsenior staffon safe working procedures use of equipment recording of test data and monitoring of results.
Perform alltasksasdirected by Supervisor andEngineers.Provideaccurateandtimelydocumented results.Communicatetest results toappropriate engineeringpersonnel.
Use schematics diagrams written and verbaldescriptionsor defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components equipmentor systems.
Perform test to failuretest to learn andacceleratedtestingactivities as part of the product development process.
Set up a variety of electrical mechanicalandpneumatic test equipmentproduct specifictest equipmentand laboratory instrumentation for collecting data.
Perform softwarerelated functional stressand performance testson products.
REQUIREMENTS
AssociateDegree in Electrical or MechanicalTechnology(or similar)or an equivalent combination of education and experiencebasedon a minimum of 3 - 6 years of testingin alab environment and/orhands-onproduct knowledge
Understanding ofelectronic mechanicaland pneumatic components equipmentandsystems.
Hands-on instrumentation and data acquisition experience.
Familiarity with the use and safe handling of laboratory equipment and shop tools.
Proficiencywith the use ofMicrosoftOffice toolsand havegoodverbalwritingand organizational skills tomaintainall records and provide data to engineersandmanagers.
Mustbe able to lift 50 lbs.
PREFERRED
Applied knowledge of strain gauge installation instrumentation andimplementation
Applied knowledge of LabView tools and programming
Applied knowledge of Python script development
Applied knowledge of procedure or test creation and documentation and documentation revisions
Experience with the use of laboratory testing equipment to verify compliance with environmental requirements (such as temperature shock vibration thermal/humidity and corrosion).
Applied knowledge of PLC ladder logic and PLCs or Grove Opto22.
Applied knowledge ofArduino Raspberry Pi or other basic programming
Applied knowledge ofReliasoftsystems and software
Familiarity with Six Sigma tools yellow green or black belt
Familiarity with efficiency programs such as 5S and Continuous Improvement
Welding machining mill lathe and CNC rapid prototyping 3D printingetc.
