The Engineering Technician II supports the software development team by performing a variety of technical and software-related tasks across multiple projects and development teams. This position is intended for someone who has a strong technical foundation is continuing to develop their software engineering skills and is actively working toward completion of a bachelors degree in computer science software engineering or a related field.



The technician will work under the guidance of senior engineers and team leads while gradually taking on more complex and independent assignments.


Responsibilities

Assists engineers with designs tests and machinery products and other equipment.
Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications procedures objectives test equipment nature of technical problem and possible solutions such as part redesign substitution of material or parts or rearrangement of parts.
Assists in the analysis of test results in relation to design or rated specifications and test objectives and modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications.
Assists in the set up and testing of complete units and components.
Performs work under general supervision.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.

Qualifications

Associate degree technical training or equivalent experience in software development computer science engineering technology or a related field.
Must be actively working toward a bachelors degree in computer science software engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience developing software using C# .
Experience with Unity WPF and .
Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.
Working knowledge of software design debugging testing and version control.
Ability to learn new technologies troubleshoot technical issues and support multiple development teams.
Strong communication organization and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing simulation training 3D or interactive applications.
Familiarity with Agile development practices Git and software configuration management.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering or government-contracting environment.
