Dauch is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team in Royal Oak Michigan. This is a fully onsite role on the 2nd shift.The Engineering Technician leads the design testing installation and maintenance of large-scale electronic equipment or machinery for use in manufacturing. Applications are broad and varied requiring inclusion of technical and business context and solving of non-routine problems.
Job Description:
- Maintains repairs installs replaces or rebuilds a diverse range of industrial manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Programs edits troubleshoots and wires logical controllers variable frequency drives (VFDs) and components on production machines and related equipment.
- Troubleshoots tests repairs and calibrates various types of electrical electronic and induction heating equipment.
- Handles maintenance and repair of electrical systems for both facility and production equipment including wiring in accordance with code.
- Safely operates the articulated boom and scissor lift ascends stairs and works on elevated mezzanines.
- Evaluates control systems products components and applications.
- Evaluates new manufacturing and control technologies adapting into specifications as appropriate.
- Confirms control system functionality including appropriate safety compliance by designing and/or executing test procedures.
- Prepares and/or reviews electrical hydraulic and pneumatic controls drawings; collaborates with related engineering teams to evaluate components materials and suppliers.
- Ensures integrity of process and build data collection.
- Provides information to manufacturing process and other engineering disciplines by answering questions and requests.
- Keeps equipment operating by performing periodic audits; troubleshooting breakdowns; requesting supplies; defining and reviewing preventive maintenance plans; calling for repairs; and implementing process improvements.
- Maintains project documents using approved methodology tools and templates.
- Manages supplier development and delivery.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years of relevant experience preferably as an industrial electrician or controls technician.
- Experience working in a union manufacturing environment within the automotive industry.
