The Engineering Technician IV is responsible for supporting the assembly integration testing troubleshooting and inspection of electrical and mechanical systems used in medical device qualification. This role works closely with engineering teams to ensure hardware is built and tested to exact specifications in a fast-paced high-reliability environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented mechanically inclined comfortable working with precision tools and test equipment and able to follow complex engineering documentation and procedures.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional environmental electrical or mechanical testing according to approved procedures and protocols.

  • Set up and operate test equipment fixtures and instrumentation including oscilloscopes multimeters power supplies torque tools calipers and microscopes

  • Accurately record test data and maintain documentation in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings schematics wiring diagrams work instructions and technical documentation

  • Assist with the development validation and improvement of test methods and procedures.

  • Identify document and communicate non-conformances defects and test discrepancies

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for hardware or process issues

  • Work collaboratively to meet schedule and performance goals

  • Follow all safety quality and compliance guidelines including applicable regulatory standards

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency quality and process optimization

  • Maintain an organized equipment closet and ensure calibration of tools is maintained

  • Manage fleet of capital equipment with software deployments and hardware/firmware updates

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant technical experience which may include a combination of practical experience and applicable training education or certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes multimeters power supplies and data acquisition systems.

  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings specifications schematics and procedures

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficiency with standard computer applications and test software.

  • Experience in a regulated industry such as medical devices aerospace or pharmaceuticals.

  • Familiarity with automated testing systems and data collection tools

  • Knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement techniques

  • Familiarity with quality systems and documentation standards (e.g. GMP ISO 13485).

  • Experience supporting engineering validation or product verification testing.

  • Basic programming or scripting experience for automated testing environments.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$69600.00 - $104400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information applies solely to candidates hired within the United States (local-market compensation and benefits will apply to others).
