Description of Work

Performs technical duties and fieldwork related to the inspection maintenance and operation of state-maintained roads bridges and transportation infrastructure. Work involves assisting higher-level technicians engineers and supervisors in a variety of highway maintenance and construction activities.

Performs basic technical inspection work and basic surveying to ensure compliance with contract plans specifications and standards for highway construction projects administered by the NCDOT. Work involves on-site inspection documentation material testing and quantity measurements of construction activities to ensure workmanship materials and methods comply with state and federal requirements.

Additional Expectations:
Safety toe footwear is needed. Employees will be subject to outside extreme environmental conditions in addition to hazards at
highway construction sites including heavy equipment and highway traffic.

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
