About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to drive supplier quality improvements and ensure purchased materials consistently meet quality and manufacturing requirements. This role will collaborate closely with Product Management Procurement R&D Process Development Engineering Manufacturing and Supplier Partners to identify quality issues perform root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in supplier quality investigations nonconformance management and corrective action processes along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Supplier Quality Management
Execute daily supplier quality activities to improve supplier performance and material quality
Partner with suppliers to ensure specifications quality requirements and expectations are clearly defined and achievable
Monitor supplier performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as a key liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding quality concerns
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions
Investigate supplier-related manufacturing and material quality issues
Perform detailed root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies
Work directly with suppliers to develop implement and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Track effectiveness of corrective actions and drive sustainable improvements
Nonconforming Material Management
Evaluate and disposition nonconforming materials
Collaborate with Incoming Inspection Manufacturing and Engineering teams to determine impact and resolution
Develop plans to prevent recurrence of supplier-related quality issues
Document investigations and quality decisions thoroughly
Supplier Quality Systems & Documentation
Update and maintain:
Supplier Control Plans
Incoming Inspection Plans
Quality Documentation
Supplier Quality Records
Author technical reports and investigation summaries
Support supplier audits and quality improvement activities as needed
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in:
Engineering
Quality Engineering
Manufacturing Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Industrial Engineering
Science-related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in:
Supplier Quality
Quality Engineering
Manufacturing Quality
Supplier Development
Ability to read and interpret:
Engineering Drawings
Specifications
Technical Documentation
Strong investigation and troubleshooting skills
Experience identifying nonconforming materials and determining root causes
Strong technical writing and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
