Engineer Manufacturing 3

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in St. Augustine FL for an approximately six-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support for aircraft production developing executable build plans and work instructions while resolving production issues and nonconformances in real time.

• Bachelors degree with 4 years of experience in an engineering manufacturing environment; OR Masters degree in a STEM field with 3 years of experience; OR PhD.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings wiring diagrams schematics and symbols.
• Experience reading and interpreting detail assembly and installation drawings.
• Experience working hands-on in a production assembly environment.
• Experience with Bills of Material (BOM).
• Experience with Siemens NX CATIA or applicable 3D CAD systems.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to work any shift or an extended workweek as business needs require.
• Ability to work at a computer workstation for up to 10 hours during a shift.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include extended periods of standing bending and kneeling as well as navigating tooling stands ladders and steps.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
• U.S. citizenship required.

• Background in aircraft wire harness fabrication cable installation avionics power distribution systems and/or electrical system testing and troubleshooting.
• Strong electrical experience and manufacturing process knowledge.
• Engineering degree in Manufacturing Aerospace Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
• Experience with NX or similar CAD software.
• Experience with SAP and MES or similar systems.
• Understanding of root cause and corrective action processes and techniques.
• Experience with RCCA tools such as Five Why Pareto and fishbone analysis.
• Experience drafting maintaining and modifying work instructions and/or process specifications.

• Review and interpret aircraft design requirements for manufacturability and translate them into clear manufacturing work instructions.
• Partner with Design Engineering Production Tool Design Engineering Industrial Engineering and Quality to establish build processes and tooling requirements.
• Incorporate engineering drawing changes into production processes and documentation.
• Develop release and maintain manufacturing engineering documentation including work instructions visual aids and Bills of Material.
• Identify manufacturing processes and specialty tooling to improve production efficiency product quality and operator ergonomics.
• Provide hands-on technical support to production personnel troubleshooting build issues nonconformances and tooling or process-related problems.
• Develop and deliver process training to production and support personnel.
• Support site safety initiatives related to manufacturing processes tooling and work instructions.
• Communicate with leadership customers suppliers and cross-functional teams.

• Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-4:30 PM.
• 4/10 work schedule.
• Must be able to work alternate shifts or an extended workweek as business needs require.

$59.33 per hour.
