This position supports the design development and integration of electrical and combat systems for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. The engineer will validate system and subsystem requirements manage system interfaces and ensure compliance with technical and performance standards.
Positions will support the following areas within the Engineering Technology and Design Division
Key Responsibilities:
Support the design and development of electrical and combat systems.
Establish system and subsystem design requirements from top-level specifications.
Manage system interfaces and ensure integrated functionality.
Develop and execute verification and validation procedures.
Identify design and integrate components and subsystems to meet performance requirements.
Lead or contribute to the creation of technical deliverables and reports.
Coordinate with design test and construction teams.
Support power generation and distribution system design and integration efforts.
Researches develops designs and tests electrical components equipment systems and networks. Designs electrical equipment facilities components products and systems for commercial industrial and domestic purposes.
Bachelors Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;
Masters Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelors Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Skills & Experience/ Nice to Have:
DOD Security Clearance is preferred but not required to start.
