Job Description


The Program Coordinators are responsible for coordinating a variety of recreational programs and park operations and overseeing applicable budgets. Additionally the Program Coordinator will be responsible for training and supervising assigned staff by conducting performance evaluations approving timesheets and leave requests managing employee scheduling providing coaching and professional development addressing performance concerns administering disciplinary actions when appropriate and ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.


Essential Duties


  • Managing the departments Public Image Evaluation program by coordinating internal and field staff assessments conducting brand compliance audits analyzing findings and recommending improvements to maintain a consistent public image
  • Planning coordinating and managing large-scale departmental events and employee engagement initiatives overseeing event logistics vendor coordination timelines and execution
  • Assisting with the development editing branding and maintenance of departmental forms handbooks manuals and other internal publications to ensure consistency accuracy and adherence to organizational standards
  • Assisting with the planning coordinating and executing ribbon-cutting ceremonies groundbreaking events and other official departmental celebrations by collaborating with internal stakeholders elected officials and community partners
  • Processing departmental print service requests business card orders and name tag requests ensuring timely production brand compliance and accurate fulfillment
  • Overseeing the installation maintenance and coordination of departmental cable sign systems and related infrastructure
  • Providing operational support for division meetings including meeting coordination agenda preparation presentation management and follow-up communications
  • Coordinating departmental award submissions and recognition programs by organizing application materials drafting award narratives and supporting documentation and communicating with internal teams throughout the submission process
  • Assisting with the maintenance organization and ongoing updates of the Parks & Recreations Amenity Search program to ensure accurate and current public information
  • Coordinating the creation scheduling and distribution of messaging for electronic marquees kiosks television displays and other digital communication platforms to support departmental initiatives and public information efforts
  • Developing producing and distributing internal signage and visual communication materials to support staff operations safety and departmental initiatives
  • Assisting with maintaining and updating departmental webpages by coordinating content revisions ensuring accuracy accessibility and compliance with organizational branding and web standards

Public Speaking Duties

  • Speaking at large-scale events about run-of-show
  • Presenting departmental offerings at Communications Professional meetings highlighting key achievements and initiatives
  • Providing feedback and actionable recommendations at monthly division meetings


Other Job Requirements/Information

  • This job may require after-hours weekend and/or holiday work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Utilize Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook for content planning presentations and internal communications
  • Utilizing Adobe Creative Suite Design promotional materials and digital assets using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to support marketing initiatives

Grade

  • The grade for this position is C42(1). The salary starts at $66331 and will be based on policy.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelors degree in parks and recreation health and human services senior services marketing public relations or business
  • Four years of recreation experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
  • Valid drivers license from the state of residency
  • CPR Certification and First Aid Certification (within 6 months of hire)
