What You Can Expect

We are seeking a motivated analytical and resourceful Energy Market Intern to join our Economic Analysis this role you will help shape ENGIEs long-term market outlook by supporting the development of internal market fundamentals comparing them against leading market consultants and contributing to revenue projections and LCOE calculations for ENGIEs operating and pipeline assets across North America.

What You Will Do

  • Support development of ENGIEs internal view on market pricing across North American markets. Compare ENGIE assumptions and outputs with various external consultant forecasts to highlight differences and drivers
  • Collect organize and maintain market inputsincluding fuel prices load forecasts capacity trends policy drivers and technology outlooks. Track changes over time and benchmark consultant inputs and outputs against ENGIEs internal datasets
  • Assist in developing long-term revenue trajectories for ENGIEs operating and development-stage assets across multiple ISOs. Contribute to streamlining and automating revenue compilation processes
  • Conduct research on industry trends policy developments and market fundamentals. Analyze consultant reports and market data identify emerging patterns and prepare recurring insights for internal stakeholders

What Youll Bring

  • Minimum 2nd year undergraduate or graduate degree in Economics Finance Business Engineering Science or related field with data analytics background with at least a current GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word
  • Familiarity with Python VBA or Power BI is a plus
  • Business acumen with an ability to prepare quantitative analysis
  • Good interpersonal skills with exceptional organization prioritization and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy in the ENGIE Houston TX or Chicago IL office and is not eligible for remote work
  • The internship work term will be from September 7 2026 to December 31 2026 and with the ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week up to 40 hours per week for the Fall/Winter Intern session
  • Interns must be enrolled in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Compensation

Hourly Range: $22.50 - $25.50 USD hourly

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography experience industry knowledge education internal pay alignment or other bona fide factors.
