Energy Assistance Program (EAP) Specialistsprocess client applications; provide in-person client assistance as well as community outreach; and are responsible for completing data entry in a fast-paced environment. EAP Specialists are responsible for following Energy Assistance Program guidelines rules and regulations. This position requires professionalism accountability and a willingness to work with a diverse population along with a driving desire to make a difference in the lives of low-income families and individuals throughout Crow Wing County.
Job Requirements:
- Two years experience in customer service or in a fast-paced office environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word Excel Outlook) and Adobe
- Experience with scanning documents or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software
- Organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately and thoroughly
- Self-motivated confident individual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Job Duties (Not all inclusive):

- Assess client needs and gather information needed to determine program eligibility
- Retrieve online applications submitted in eHEAT system
- Scan applications received at site locations.
- Complete accurate data entry-including inputting household information and application data (text-based and numerical) from documents into eHEAT system.
- Respond to heating emergencies within Department of Commerce timelines
- Coordinate with energy vendors place emergency guarantees and complete follow up activity
- Answer client requests and questions via phone email and in person
- Be knowledgeable of community resources; collaborate with staff and external sources of services
- Attend and participate in meetings conferences and community outreach events as requested
- Other duties as assigned
