Job Summary

Job Title:Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) EndocrinologyGeneral Summary:The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing comprehensive endocrinology care to patients under the supervision and collaboration of the supervising physician(s). This position includes the evaluation diagnosis treatment education and ongoing management of patients with endocrine disorders with a primary focus on diabetes management as well as thyroid disease osteoporosis adrenal disorders pituitary disorders metabolic conditions and other endocrine APP will provide high-quality evidence-based patient care while promoting excellent patient outcomes patient satisfaction and continuity of care consistent with the mission and standards of Murfreesboro Medical Murfreesboro Medical Clinic our Advanced Practice Providers practice in a collaborative physician-led environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Our providers are supported by experienced physicians and staff who work together to improve the health and well-being of our patients while fostering a positive respectful and patient-centered :Reports to the Supervising Physician and Practice Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are representative of the position and are not intended to be comprehensive patient assessments including obtaining complete medical histories conducting physical examinations reviewing prior medical records and documenting findings accurately in the electronic medical lab results imaging and diagnostic testing to establish diagnoses and develop individualized treatment and manages endocrine disorders including but not limited to:Type 1 and Type 2 DiabetesGestational DiabetesThyroid disordersOsteoporosisAdrenal disordersPituitary disordersParathyroid disordersObesity and metabolic disordersPrescribes medications including insulin and other injectable therapies in accordance with Tennessee law clinic protocols and evidence-based adjusts and monitors diabetes treatment plans including insulin therapy continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) insulin pump therapy and other diabetes Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) reports and insulin pump downloads to optimize patient interprets and follows appropriate laboratory and diagnostic individualized patient and family education regarding disease processes medications lifestyle modifications nutrition exercise glucose monitoring and prevention of diabetes education utilizing internal and community resources when closely with supervising physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment follow-up care and ongoing chronic disease to patient messages telephone encounters prescription refill requests laboratory results and clinical questions in a timely in quality improvement initiatives and supports departmental performance accurate timely and complete documentation within the electronic medical patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA regulations and MMC in departmental meetings continuing education and professional development professionalism accountability and excellent customer service while promoting a positive patient of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant of two (2) years of Advanced Practice Provider experience endocrinology experience managing diabetes insulin therapies CGM systems and insulin pump technology Tennessee Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant registration and Tennessee Controlled Substance Certificate as BLS certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician APP should possess knowledge of:Evidence-based management of endocrine technology including CGMs and insulin management of endocrine clinical practice medical HIPAA infection control and patient safety clinical assessment and diagnostic communication and patient education to interpret laboratory and diagnostic time management and organizational critical thinking and clinical decision-making to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary high standards of patient care and prioritize competing clinical calm and professional in urgent or stressful positive relationships with patients families physicians and to changing workflows technology and clinical sound clinical judgment and ConditionsWork is performed in a medical office and outpatient clinical setting. Potential exposure to communicable diseases bodily fluids medicinal preparations toxic substances and other conditions common to a healthcare environment.
