Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginias capital city and five nearby counties. Annually our four campus sites serve approximately 13000 credit students and provide training for 7400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse culturally competent staff at all levels of the organization who reflect the demographics of our students. We also believe in providing an ongoing investment in our faculty and staff to deepen their skills and competencies to serve the full range of our student population. The Emergency Medical Services Teaching Faculty member will teach EMS and/or Fire Science-related courses in classroom online and laboratory settings and supervise limited clinical rotations as needed. Faculty loads are normally scheduled at an average of 15 credits per semester; however due to cohort scheduling this position may have opportunities to teach during the summer semesters based on student interest and program needs. Teaching schedules may include day and evening classes dual enrollment courses with local high schools and other instructional assignments as needed to support program operations. The faculty member will collaborate in the planning delivery and evaluation of classroom and laboratory instruction; provide related services and support activities that promote student learning and effective educational programming; and maintain a minimum of 10 student engagement hours per week including advising and collateral duty assignments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration on departmental and interdisciplinary initiatives.
