About the Role:

We are seeking experienced Employment Partners to join a nationally recognized employment litigation practice representing employers in complex workplace disputes throughout California. This fully remote opportunity is open to attorneys located anywhere in California with immediate hiring needs supporting the firms Orange County and Downtown Los Angeles offices.

This role is ideal for a seasoned employment litigator with extensive California wage and hour litigation experience who enjoys mentoring junior attorneys while managing sophisticated employment matters from inception through resolution. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to clients lead litigation teams and contribute to the continued growth of a thriving California employment practice.

Attorneys with an established client base or portable book of business are encouraged to apply though a portable practice is not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the defense of employers in complex employment litigation matters in California state and federal courts.
  • Handle all aspects of wage and hour litigation including class actions PAGA representative actions and single-plaintiff employment disputes.
  • Develop litigation strategy from pre-litigation counseling through trial arbitration mediation and appeal.
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions class certification briefing discovery motions and appellate filings.
  • Take and defend depositions of parties witnesses and experts.
  • Manage complex discovery including electronically stored information (ESI) and large-scale document productions.
  • Advise employers on California Labor Code compliance wage and hour regulations employment policies and risk management strategies.
  • Mentor supervise and provide substantive guidance to junior associates and litigation teams.
  • Maintain and expand strong client relationships while serving as a trusted legal advisor.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership on practice development client service and strategic growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Significant experience representing employers in California employment litigation.
  • Deep knowledge of California wage and hour law including class actions and PAGA litigation.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Strong motion practice deposition courtroom advocacy and negotiation skills.
  • Experience mentoring and supervising junior attorneys.
  • Exceptional legal research writing analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusted client relationships and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fully remote work environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Trial or arbitration experience in employment litigation.
  • Experience providing day-to-day employment counseling and preventative risk management advice.
  • Portable book of business or demonstrated business development experience is welcomed but not required.
  • Established relationships within the California business or legal community.
  • Leadership experience within an employment litigation practice.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Salary: $250000 $325000 commensurate with experience and business development background.
