Job Summary
A growing California-based legal practice is seeking an experienced Employment Law Partner with substantial expertise in school district and public entity defense litigation. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in employment law litigation strategy and advising educational institutions or public agencies.
Key Responsibilities Employment Litigation & Defense-
Represent school districts and public entities in employment-related disputes including:

Wrongful termination
-
Discrimination
-
Harassment
-
Retaliation
-
Wage and hour matters
-

Manage all phases of litigation including:
-
Case strategy
-
Discovery
-
Depositions
-
Motion practice
-
Mediation and settlement negotiations
-
Trial preparation
-
-
Handle administrative matters before agencies such as the EEOC DFEH/CRD and labor boards.

Advise administrators HR teams and leadership on compliance with:

Title IX
-
ADA
-
FMLA
-
California employment laws
-
Public agency regulations
-
-
Counsel clients on employee discipline investigations leaves accommodations and termination procedures.

Provide guidance on collective bargaining and labor relations matters.

Draft and review employment policies procedures contracts and workplace guidelines.

Conduct trainings on:

Harassment prevention
-
Employee relations
-
Workplace investigations
-
Labor and employment compliance
-
Union-related issues
-

Minimum 8 years of employment law experience.

Strong defense-side litigation background required.

Experience representing school districts educational institutions or public entities strongly preferred.

Civil trial experience as 1st or 2nd chair highly preferred.

Active California State Bar membership in good standing.

Excellent legal writing communication and analytical skills.

Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.

- Base salary range: $230000 $290000 depending on experience and qualifications.
