Employment Law Partner

A growing California-based legal practice is seeking an experienced Employment Law Partner with substantial expertise in school district and public entity defense litigation. This role is ideal for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in employment law litigation strategy and advising educational institutions or public agencies.

• Represent school districts and public entities in employment-related disputes including:

  • Wrongful termination

  • Discrimination

  • Harassment

  • Retaliation

  • Wage and hour matters

• Manage all phases of litigation including:

  • Case strategy

  • Discovery

  • Depositions

  • Motion practice

  • Mediation and settlement negotiations

  • Trial preparation

• Handle administrative matters before agencies such as the EEOC DFEH/CRD and labor boards.

• Advise administrators HR teams and leadership on compliance with:

  • Title IX

  • ADA

  • FMLA

  • California employment laws

  • Public agency regulations

• Counsel clients on employee discipline investigations leaves accommodations and termination procedures.

• Provide guidance on collective bargaining and labor relations matters.

• Draft and review employment policies procedures contracts and workplace guidelines.

• Conduct trainings on:

  • Harassment prevention

  • Employee relations

  • Workplace investigations

  • Labor and employment compliance

  • Union-related issues

• Minimum 8 years of employment law experience.

• Strong defense-side litigation background required.

• Experience representing school districts educational institutions or public entities strongly preferred.

• Civil trial experience as 1st or 2nd chair highly preferred.

• Active California State Bar membership in good standing.

• Excellent legal writing communication and analytical skills.

• Ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.

• Base salary range: $230000 $290000 depending on experience and qualifications.
