Guru Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant to support a public sector client in Virginia. The consultant will provide strategic guidance on employee health and welfare benefit programs regulatory compliance benefits procurement vendor management and long-term benefits planning for county government agencies public schools regional jail authority and public library employees.

• Analyze and evaluate employee health dental vision pharmacy wellness and retiree benefit programs.

• Develop strategic recommendations to improve benefits while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

• Provide expert guidance on ACA HIPAA COBRA FMLA and other federal and Virginia benefits regulations.

• Assist with benefits RFP development vendor evaluations and contract negotiations.

• Conduct market benchmarking and cost analysis of employee benefit plans.

• Support renewal negotiations and monitor carrier performance.

• Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and HR stakeholders.

• Prepare detailed reports financial projections and executive presentations.

• Advise on wellness initiatives and long-term employee benefits strategies.

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Finance or related field.

• 5 years of employee benefits consulting experience.

• Experience supporting Virginia local governments school divisions or public agencies.

• Strong knowledge of ACA ERISA HIPAA COBRA and public sector benefits compliance.

• Experience with medical dental vision pharmacy wellness and retiree benefit programs.

• Excellent analytical presentation and stakeholder management skills.

• CEBS SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP PHR/SPHR or related certification.

• Experience with public procurement and government RFPs.

• Familiarity with benefits financial modeling and actuarial analysis.

• Location: Remote (Virginia preferred)

• Duration: Initial 1-year contract with renewal potential

• Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the United States
