Job Summary
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight:Maximize the impact of Repair Technology on fleet performance through Safety Quality Delivery and Financial metrics (e.g. Cost Avoidance Variable Cost Productivity).
- Operational Intake:Lead the end-to-end process for triaging prioritizing and scoping emergent field issues that require Repair Development expertise.
- Technical Excellence:Design develop and validate repair processes and tools ensuring they meet rigorous safety and functional requirements.
- Leadership & Mentorship:Provide technical direction to a global team; review and approve deliverables to ensure compliance and technical accuracy.
- Standardization:Establish and maintain best practices for Design Reviews eDRB and PLM. Own the standard work and risk mitigation strategies specifically for emergent repair operations.
- Collaboration:Act as a technical advisor for RDC shop activities and facilitate cross-functional design workshops using Design Thinking principles to drive efficiency and customer value.
- Growth & Development:Participate in operations planning (SII/Op Plan) and stay abreast of industry/academic technological trends to keep the team at the forefront of repair innovation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Civil Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Ability and willingness to climb wind turbines and work at heights.
- Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 20% of the time as required.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience in Tool/Repair Design and Development.
- Strong proficiency in Structural Design with FEA and 3D Modeling.
- Expertise in Wind Turbine Product/Services and hands-on service/repair experience.
- Experience leveraging AI/Generative tools to accelerate design cycles or automate data analysis.
- Familiarity with empathic design and working in a dynamic industrial shop environment.
- Deep understanding of GEV business tools and practices.
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal leadership and business skills with the ability to interact effectively with both senior management and hourly technicians.
- Proven project and program leadership experience.
- Ability to work in a dynamic global environment across a wide variety of organizations.
- Creative open mindset with a willingness to challenge the status quo to deliver superior product outcomes.
- Team-oriented with a record of driving results through simple creative problem-solving.
