Additional Skills Required: Knowledge of Special Education programming laws and procedures to ensure compliance with IDEA and district policies related to special education services; Maintain accurate records of student progress attendance and behavioral data; Case management of assigned students which includes the development of standards-aligned IEPs reporting on progress and facilitating IEP meetings; Committed to continuous improvement and data-based decision-making; Effective written verbal and technology-based communication skills; Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child growth and development effective instructional strategies classroom management learning assessment and diagnosis diagnostic tools and research related to students with disabilities.

Desirable Skills: ESL Endorsement; Self-contained teaching experience at the elementary level preferred; Thorough understanding of specially designed instruction in literacy and math to support diverse learners; Strong knowledge of autism-specific teaching strategies including visual supports communication social skills and sensory regulation techniques; Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to implement individualized behavior plans; Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders; Ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse students.
